The “Outstanding Entrepreneur” award is a part of the “Motivation of Entrepreneurs to Start Industries and Fiscal Assistance to Industries – State Awards to MSMEs” scheme. It is administered by the Industries and Commerce Department of the Union Territory of Puducherry. Launched under the New Industrial Policy 2016 on 4th October 2016, the scheme aims to recognize and reward outstanding MSME entrepreneurs across the UT. Applications must be submitted offline in the prescribed format.

The enterprise must be functioning profitably for at least 3 years before applying

Must provide a minimum of 60% employment to residents of the UT of Puducherry
Application Process
Offline Submission Only

Applications will be invited by the Director of Industries through public announcements.

Eligible units must download or collect the prescribed application form from the Official Website of the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Puducherry.

Fill out the form completely and attach all required documents (self-attested if needed).

Submit the completed form either in person or by post to the designated authority.
Post-Application Process

Applications will be scrutinized by the Directorate based on merit.

Shortlisted applications will be forwarded to the State Awards Committee for final evaluation.

The Director of Industries will notify and inform the selected enterprises to receive their awards.
