🏔️ What is Amarnath Yatra?

In case you are new to this — the Amarnath Yatra is a yearly pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave Temple in Jammu & Kashmir. At the Amarnath Cave Temple, Lord Shiva is believed to manifest as a naturally occurring ice Shivling. The yatra typically occurs in the in the Shravan month (July–August), and thousands of devotees come from all over the country to join.

  • Expected Yatra Dates: From End of June 2025 to mid-August 2025

  • Registration Start Date: Likely from April 2025

✅ Amarnath Yatra Registration – Who Can Apply?

  • Anyone aged 13 to 70 years

  • Pregnant women over 6 months not allowed

  • You must be physically fit (there’s a medical test for this)

No medical certificate = No Yatra Pass. It’s strict, but it’s for everyone’s safety.


💻 How to Register Online for Amarnath Yatra 2025 (Step-by-Step)

  1. Visit the official portal 👉 https://jksasb.nic.in or shriamarnathjishrine.com

  2. Click on “Yatra Registration 2025”

  3. Create an account using mobile and email

  4. Fill in your personal details — name, ID proof, contact info

  5. Upload a scanned Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC)

  6. Choose your Yatra route (Pahalgam or Baltal)

  7. Select travel date

  8. Pay the registration fee (around ₹120–₹150 per person)

  9. Download your Yatra Permit (YP)

Boom — done! Don’t forget to take a printout of the permit.


📋 Documents You’ll Need

  • Aadhaar Card or any valid photo ID

  • Passport-size photo

  • Medical Certificate (CHC) from authorized doctor/hospital

  • Emergency contact info

🗺️ Two Routes for Amarnath Yatra

  1. Pahalgam Route (Traditional, longer – 48km): Easier slope, takes 3–5 days

  2. Baltal Route (Shorter – 14km): Steep but quicker, can be done in 1–2 days

Pick based on your fitness, time, and preference. Pahalgam is more scenic and chill, Baltal is more challenging and fast-paced.

  • Registration Fee: ₹120–₹150 approx.

  • Helicopter Tickets (optional): ₹2,500–₹5,000 per side (book early!)

  • Pony, Palki, Porter charges: Separate, paid on the spot


🧘‍♂️ Some Tips Before You Go

  • Start doing cardio, walking or light trekking at least a month before yatra

  • Carry warm clothes, raincoat, walking stick, torch

  • Keep dry snacks, glucose, personal medicines

  • Respect the mountain & fellow yatris — this is not a picnic
