The Summer Internship Scheme by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) aims to engage young scholars and researchers from reputed academic institutions who are pursuing studies in Public Policy, Economics, Law, Finance, and Management. The internship provides:

Firsthand experience in foreign trade policy formulation.
Exposure to policy implementation at the micro level within DGFT.
Skill enhancement for career advancement.

Duration

The duration of the Internship will be for a maximum period of 2 months for Summer Internship
Programme (1st June- 31st July) during the year 2025-26

Maximum period: 2 months

Declaration of Secrecy

Interns must sign a Declaration of Secrecy before the internship begins.

Location

Interns will be placed at DGFT Headquarters, New Delhi.
They will be attached to the heads of different divisions and will report directly to them.

Benefits

Remuneration

₹10,000/- per month as a consolidated stipend.

Logistics Support

Basic logistical support will be provided based on functional requirements.

Certificate

Interns will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the internship.

Dgft summer internship eligibility

Must be an Indian national.
Should be pursuing studies in India or abroad.
Must have an excellent academic record.
Must have graduation degree in one of the following fields:
- Public Policy
- Economics
- Finance
- Management
- Law
Must have secured at least 60% marks in graduation.
Must have completed graduation from any of the following institutions:
- National Schools of Law
- Central Universities
- AICTE-recognized Financial/Economics Institutions
- Recognized National Management Institutes
- Foreign Universities
