The State Disability Scholarship is initiated by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland, to grant monetary aid to students with disabilities (40% or above) pursuing studies from Class I to Class VIII. The scholarship program is to support students with disabilities who are experiencing financial difficulties in pursuing further education, such that they enjoy access to academic pursuits.

Benefits:

• The physically disabled students from Class I to Class VIII are provided with scholarships ranging from ₹200/-.

Eligibility:

1. Scholarship for Persons with Disability will be applicable for all the inhabitants of Nagaland.
2. The applicant should be from an Institution which has a valid AISHE/UDISE Code.
3. The annual income of the applicant’s parents/guardians from all sources must not exceed ₹2.50 lakhs.
4. Disabled Students should have the benchmark disability (40% and above) to be admissible under this scheme.
5. Scholarship for Persons with Disabilities will be applicable from Class I to Class VIII.
6. Students who have failed in their last examination (repeaters) are not eligible to apply.
7. Applicants must not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship scheme.
8. Scholarship will be provided to all types of disabilities as defined in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules 2017.

The scholarship application is handled online via the Common Scholarship Portal for Nagaland.

Steps to Apply:

1. Registration:

   • Visit the official Common Scholarship Portal: Nagaland Scholarship Portal.
   • Click on “Register” if you are a new user, enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number for OTP verification, and create a password.

2. Login: Log in with your credentials (mobile number and password) after completing the registration.

3. Profile Update: Complete your personal details, including name, bank account, disability certificate, and contact details.

4. Select Scholarship: Choose the relevant State Disability Scholarship and fill in your educational information (school, class, etc.).

5. Upload Documents: Upload the required documents, such as Disability Certificate, Income Certificate, Aadhaar Card, Bank Account details, and others as listed below.

6. Submit Application: After reviewing the information, click on Submit to complete the application.

7. Track Application Status: You can track your application status under the “My Applications” tab on the portal.
