TVK ₹2,500 Promise — Current Status

What is it: CM C. Joseph Vijay (TVK) election manifesto promise — increase Pudhumai Penn from ₹1,000 to ₹2,500/month.

Current status (June 2026): Promise announced. Official implementation NOT yet done.

Amount is still ₹1,000/month — not ₹2,500.

When it happens: Government notification will appear on pudhumaipenn.tn.gov.in and umis.tn.gov.in. Check regularly.

The Pudhumai Penn Trap — Common Mistakes

Trap 1 — Wrong portal: New students going to pudhumaipenn.tn.gov.in → Cannot register there.

Fix: New students → umis.tn.gov.in only.

Trap 2 — Bonafide certificate not renewed: ₹1,000 payment stops suddenly. Reason: Semester bonafide not submitted.

Fix: Every semester → submit bonafide certificate through college Nodal Officer. Don’t wait for reminder.
