Objectives

  • Generate self-employment through sheep rearing
  • Promote meat and wool production
  • Support Antyodaya families and weaker sections

Sheep Units (Target 2025–26)

  • Units to be established: 160
  • Structure per unit: 15 Ewes + 1 Ram

Financial Assistance/Subsidy

  • Subsidy Amount: 25% of total unit cost
  • Unit Cost:
    • 15 Ewes @ ₹6,000 = ₹90,000
    • 1 Ram @ ₹8,000 = ₹8,000
    • Total = ₹98,000
  • Maximum Subsidy: ₹24,500
  • Age Criteria for Animals: 12–18 months (both male and female)
  • Disbursement: After 3 months of tagging or loan disbursement, verified by Veterinary Surgeon

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age: 18–60 years
  • Must be a resident of Haryana
  • Unemployed (Unemployment certificate required)
  • No mandatory educational qualification
  • No spouse participation in departmental schemes in last 7 years
  • NOC from service area bank is required

Application Process

  • Apply via SARAL Portal
  • PPP ID is mandatory
  • Can apply through Common Service Centres, Antyodaya Kendra, Atal Sewa Kendra, or e-Disha Centres

Selection and Purchase

  • First-come, first-serve basis
  • Purchase coordinated by Sub Divisional Officer with Veterinary Surgeon
  • Venue: Government Veterinary Institution

Purchase Committee (General Scheme)

  • Sub Divisional Officer (Animal Husbandry) – Chairman
  • Veterinary Surgeon (GVH)
  • Bank Representative
  • VLDA (GVH/GVD)

MMAPUY Applicants

  • Eligible if annual income < ₹1.80 lakh
  • Subsidy: 90% of unit cost = ₹88,200
  • Application via Utthan Portal
  • Disbursement after 7 days of tagging/loan disbursement

Livestock Insurance

  • Covered under Departmental Livestock Insurance Scheme (if available)
  • Otherwise, insurance must be arranged by beneficiary or bank
