Now that the RBSE and CBSE 12th results are finally out, my inbox is flooded with the same big question: “I got X%, will I actually get a scooty this year?”

Look, we all know the official rule says you only need 65% to apply. But let’s be honest—65% is just the entry ticket. With the Rajasthan government capping the distribution at 70,000 units for the 2026 batch, the competition is going to be fierce. While we wait for the HTE portal to finish uploading the official Provisional Merit Lists, I’ve crunched the numbers from the latest result trends to help you figure out if your percentage puts you in the “Safe Zone” or the “Waiting Room.”
📊 Expected Cut-Off Marks (May 2026)
Cut-offs vary significantly between Government Schools and Private Schools, as well as across streams. Science students generally face higher cut-offs than Arts students.
1. RBSE (Rajasthan Board) – Expected Cut-Off
| Category | Arts (Merit) | Science (Merit) | Commerce (Merit) |
| General / EWS | 89.20% | 93.40% | 85.00% |
| OBC | 87.50% | 91.80% | 83.20% |
| SC | 82.40% | 87.60% | 78.50% |
| ST | 78.80% | 84.20% | 75.00% |
| Minority | 81.60% | 88.00% | 79.20% |
2. CBSE (Central Board) – Expected Cut-Off
Note: CBSE students generally need 10% more than RBSE students to compete for the 25% reserved quota.
-
General/OBC: 94% – 97%
-
SC/ST: 85% – 90%
🏫 District-Wise Cut-Off Variation
I’ve noticed that cut-offs in districts like Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Sikar are consistently 2–3% higher than in districts like Jaisalmer or Pratapgarh.
-
High Competition Districts: Jaipur, Sikar, Nagaur, Jhunjhunu.
-
Moderate Competition Districts: Udaipur, Bikaner, Alwar.
🛠️ Factors That Change Your Cut-Off Rank
It’s not just about your marks. Three “hidden” factors decide your final place on the list:
-
School Type: 50% of the scooties are reserved for Government school students, and 50% for Private school students. If you are from a Private school, your cut-off will likely be higher.
-
The “Gap Year” Rule: If you took a gap year between 12th and College, your application will be rejected regardless of your percentage.
-
Jan Aadhaar Verification: Even if you score 99%, an “Objection” in your Jan Aadhaar (name mismatch or income error) will move you to the bottom of the list until you fix it.
⚠️ Important for 2026: The “Scooty vs. Cash” Choice
If you have already received a scooty based on your 10th marks (from the TAD or School Education Department), you are not eligible for a second scooty. However, if you are meritorious in 12th, the government may offer a lump sum of ₹40,000 instead.
