What is INI CET?
INI CET (Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test) is a national-level PG medical entrance exam conducted by AIIMS New Delhi on behalf of all Institutes of National Importance.
It is the only route for admission to MD, MS, DM, M.Ch, and MDS courses at:
- All AIIMS campuses across India
- JIPMER, Puducherry
- PGIMER, Chandigarh
- NIMHANS, Bengaluru
- SCTIMST, Trivandrum
The exam is held twice a year — May for the July session and November for the January session. Over 1,300+ PG seats are filled through INI CET every cycle.
Eligibility — Check Before You Apply
Candidates must hold an MBBS degree from an MCI-recognised college and complete their internship by 30 November 2025. For the November 2026 exam, the internship completion deadline will be updated in the official notification — typically set at 31 October 2026 or 30 November 2026. PM Vishwakarma
Other eligibility points:
- There is no upper age limit for INI CET
- Foreign nationals require an equivalence certificate from the Medical Council of India
- Those who have completed the basic registration for INI CET exam in the last session need not do it again — only EUC generation and final application needed Paisabazaar
Category certificates (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS) must be valid as per the format specified in the prospectus. Verify validity before applying.
How to Register — Step by Step
Applicants must visit aiimsexams.ac.in, navigate to ‘Academic Courses’, complete the basic registration by providing personal details, upload a passport-sized photo, signature, and thumb impression, generate an Exam Unique Code (EUC) after acceptance, fill out the final application form, pay the registration fee, and save the confirmation slip. Here is the full process broken down:
Step 1 — Basic Registration (First-Time Applicants Only)
Go to aiimsexams.ac.in/otr and create a new account. Fill in your name, date of birth, email ID, and mobile number. Upload your passport-size photograph, scanned signature, and thumb impression as per the specified format. Submit and wait for acceptance confirmation.
If you registered for any previous INI CET session and your Basic Registration was accepted — skip this step entirely.
Step 2 — Generate Your EUC
Once Basic Registration is accepted, login at aiimsexams.ac.in/auth/login and generate your Examination Unique Code (EUC) for the November 2026 session. This code is session-specific — you need a fresh EUC for every exam you appear in.
Step 3 — Fill the Final Application Form
Navigate to Academic Courses → INI CET → November 2026 session. Fill in all personal and academic details. Upload the required documents — MBBS degree or provisional certificate, internship completion certificate, and category certificate if applicable.
Step 4 — Pay the Application Fee
The application fee for the INI CET 2026 is INR 4,000 for General/OBC/Foreign Nationals/OCI/Sponsored candidates, and for the SC/ST/EWS candidates, it is INR 3,200. The students with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempt from the application fee. Paisabazaar
Payment is online only — no offline mode available.
Step 5 — Save Your Confirmation Slip
After payment, download and save your confirmation slip. This is your proof of successful registration. Keep your Registration ID, EUC, and password safely noted — you will need them for every subsequent login.

- Recent passport-size photograph as per AIIMS specifications
- Scanned signature (as per specification)
- MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate
- Internship completion certificate or certificate from Head of Institution
- Category certificate — SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS — in correct format and within validity
- PwBD certificate if applicable
- Valid government photo ID
Application Fee Summary
| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| General / OBC / OCI / Foreign Nationals | ₹4,000 |
| SC / ST / EWS | ₹3,200 |
| PwBD (Benchmark Disabilities) | No fee |
After Registration — What Happens Next
Once you register and the exam cycle begins, everything flows through your aiimsexams.ac.in login dashboard:
Admit Card — released approximately one week before the exam. Download it from your My Page dashboard. AIIMS will not send it by email — you must download it yourself.
Exam Day — carry the printed admit card, two passport-size photographs, and a valid photo ID. AIIMS captures iris prints at the exam centre — do not wear contact lenses.
Result — expected on 7 November 2026. Check from your dashboard under Result/Scorecard. Download your scorecard immediately — needed for counselling.
Counselling — begins after results. Choice filling, seat allotment, and document verification all happen through the same portal login.
INI CET vs NEET PG — Quick Difference
One question that comes up often — why appear for INI CET separately when NEET PG exists?
The institutes accepting INI CET — AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER, NIMHANS, SCTIMST — are among the most prestigious medical institutions in India. These institutes do not accept NEET PG scores. INI CET is the only way in.
If your goal is any of these institutes, INI CET is non-negotiable.
