Certificate Verification — What to Do Now
Certificate verification is the most important step before the rank list. It happens at TNEA Facilitation Centres (TFCs) — designated colleges across Tamil Nadu.
You must visit the TFC assigned to you during registration. Bring original documents plus one set of photocopies:
- Class 10 marksheet and certificate
- Class 12 marksheet and certificate
- Community certificate (for SC/ST/BC/MBC)
- First graduate certificate (if applicable)
- Sports/NCC/Ex-servicemen certificate (if applicable)
- Aadhaar card
- TNEA 2026 application printout

How TNEA Rank is Calculated
TNEA has no entrance exam. The rank is based entirely on Class 12 marks.
The formula uses marks from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Physics and Chemistry marks are taken as is. Maths marks are given additional weightage. The normalised score determines the rank. Students with the same score are differentiated using the Random Number allotted on June 10.
Higher Class 12 PCM marks = better rank = better college choice in counselling.
Counselling Process — 4 Rounds
Once the rank list is published on June 29:
Round 1: Choice Filling Login → tneaonline.org → Counselling → Add colleges and courses in order of preference. You can add as many choices as you want. Order matters — first preference gets priority.
Round 2: Seat Allotment Based on rank and choices, seats are allotted. Result visible on tneaonline.org.
Round 3: Allotment Confirmation Accept the allotted seat and pay the seat acceptance fee online.
Round 4: Report to College Visit the allotted college or TFC with original documents and pay college fees.
Supplementary counselling happens after the main rounds for remaining seats.

Common Problems + Fix
“Documents not uploaded before June 6”: Contact your designated TFC directly — bring originals. Manual verification may still be possible at the discretion of the TFC officer.
“Application number/password forgotten”: tneaonline.org → Forgot Password → Registered mobile OTP.
“Community certificate name mismatch”: Get a fresh certificate from your tahsildar before TFC verification. Name must match Class 10/12 certificates exactly.
