TS DOST 2026 — Phase 3 Registration Open | Seat Allotment & College Reporting | dost.cgg.gov.in

She Got a Seat in Phase 2 — But Didn’t Know She Could Get a Better One in Phase 3

Warangal’s Divya got allotted a B.Sc seat in a college 45 km from home in Phase 2. Her first choice — a college 5 km away — had shown “seats available” during web options. But she hadn’t selected it correctly.

Her friend told her: “Phase 3 is open. You can try again for a better seat.”

Divya registered for Phase 3, put the nearby college first in web options — and got allotted. She reported to college on June 22. Zero travel issues. Same programme, much better location.

TS DOST (Degree Online Services, Telangana) — Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE)’s centralized online admission portal for undergraduate degree programmes. BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA, BBM, BSW — 7 universities, 1,000+ colleges — one portal. 4.5 lakh+ students enrolled every year.

⭐ DOST ID vs Application Number — Confusion Clear

Most students confuse these:

DOST ID Application Number
What Your unique permanent ID Reference for that phase
Format DOST + numeric Phase-specific
Used for Login to portal Tracking application
Where to find Registration confirmation Application receipt

Login = always use DOST ID + PIN. Note it down carefully — needed for all phases.

Step 1: dost.cgg.gov.in open karein

Step 2: “New Registration” → Details fill karein:

  • Aadhaar-linked mobile number
  • Name, DOB, category
  • Intermediate Hall Ticket Number
  • Marks

Step 3: Registration fee pay karein:

  • Phase 3 = ₹400 (Phase 1 = ₹200)
  • UPI / Net Banking / Debit/Credit Card

Step 5: Web Options fill karein — college + course preferences in priority order

Step 6: Lock preferences → Submit

Step 7: Phase 3 seat allotment — check portal

⭐ Web Options — Most Critical Step

Order matters more than anything:

Web options = your college + course preferences in priority order. 1st choice = your most preferred college + course. System allocates seat to highest preference where seat is available + your merit qualifies.

Tips:

  • Put your dream college first — don’t put “safe” first
  • Include 8-10 choices — more options = better chances
  • Mix top colleges + safe colleges
  • Check seat availability before finalizing

Once locked, web options cannot be changed. Think carefully.

⭐ “Sliding” — Get a Better Seat in Phase 3

Most students don’t use this — Divya’s secret:

Already have a Phase 1 or 2 seat? Not happy with the allotted college? Phase 3 = opportunity to get a better seat = “sliding”

How:

  1. Register for Phase 3
  2. Fill web options with preferred colleges
  3. If better seat available → new allotment
  4. Previous seat automatically released

Risk: If Phase 3 gives worse seat or no seat → you keep Phase 2 allotment (if you haven’t cancelled it).

Seat Allotment — How to Check

Step 1: dost.cgg.gov.in“Candidate Login”

Step 2: DOST ID + PIN enter karein

Step 3: Dashboard → “View Allotment” / “Seat Allotment Order”

Step 4: Allotment order shows:

  • Allotted college + course
  • Fee to be paid
  • Self-reporting deadline

Step 5: Download allotment order → Print for college visit

Self-Reporting Online — Confirm Your Seat

After seeing allotment:

Step 1: Login → “Online Self-Reporting”

Step 2: Check allotment details

Step 3: Pay seat confirmation fee (₹500-₹1,000 approx) online

Step 4: CCOTP (College Confirmation OTP) received via SMS — save it

Step 5: Self-reporting complete

College Reporting — Physical Visit (June 20-27)

Most competitors don’t emphasize this:

Online process alone is NOT enough. Physical reporting at allotted college = mandatory to confirm admission. June 20-27, 2026 = reporting window.

What to bring to college:

  • Allotment order printout
  • CCOTP (SMS received)
  • Aadhaar card (original)
  • 10th + Intermediate original marksheets
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/BC/EWS — original)
  • Transfer certificate / Migration certificate
  • Passport photos (4-6)
  • College fee (as per allotment order)

Miss reporting deadline = seat forfeited = back to fresh search.
